Mr. Lybrate-user, lemon water is fine, can be taken by a person with diabetes. Adding sugar free powder is also fine. But what is worrying is her blood glucose level of 300 mg, which is definitely very high. When diabetes is in control fbs should be closer to 100 mg, ppbs- 170 to 180 mg & hba1c% <7. So please see that her glucose levels are brought to necessary ones. Thanks.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
Sugar-free foods may play a role in your diabetes diet, but remember that it's equally important to consider carbohydrates as well. A sugar-free label means that one serving has less than 0.5 grams of sugar.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

No, its not good. Instead you avoid sweet things like cake, chocolates, mithai etc. Otherwise in milk or tea its 2-3 spoons of sugar in whole day which is not much. For weight loss first of all you should change your eating habits like
1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't overeat...more

Hello Sir,
By sugar, I presume you mean diabetes.
Type-2 diabetes in about 50 percent of people is asymptomatic- that means they do not have any symptoms. It is found out incidentally by doing blood glucose test for some other reason. In about 50 percent, the patients have symptoms like loss of weight, increased hunger and thirst, increased urination, tiredness, skin problems etc.

Scientists have concluded that sugar stimulates the exact same centers of the brain, which derive pleasure out of heroin or cocaine. For those who are addicted to sugar, getting off it leads to intense cravings and withdrawal symptoms. If you have an uncontrollable urge to devour something sweet, you probably have sugar addiction too. Sugar is known to release dopamine and opioids, which not only makes it addictive, but makes it extremely difficult for you to overcome the withdrawal symptoms. more
