Last year I have suffered from wound on left hip and being operated by a qualified surgeon. Right now with same place the wound recurred. Currently taking linezolid 600 twice after getting prescription from physician. Already taken 8 doze. But could not finding any relief. Please suggest.

-check your blood sugar- hba1c, FBS, ppbs and under control
-if any pus/discharge from wound- send for culture and sensitivity- take antibiotics according to the report -get x-ray of the affected part to check if any infection reached to the bone (osteomyelitis)
-stop smoking/ tobacco chewing/alcohol intake as it delays wound healing.

When we reported these symptoms, one of her medicines linezolid is stopped two days ago. But her pain and tingling have become unbearable. Can you suggest any medicine or way out get relief to her?

Dear Lybrate user, tb drugs can cause tingling & pain in feet (this disappears when medicine course is completed)
if the problem is very overwhelming please ask your doctor to add vit b group to medicines (the dose will be according to weight)

I am 33 years old female I have thyroid and I am taking thyronorm 100 mcg. 3 years back I gave birth to my son and a milk gland was formed in my breast and puss was formed. Along with other medications I was given Lizoforce 600. Which was quite effective and I was ok only the lump was there which the doctor said will go off gradually. But now after 3 years I could feel pinching sensation in the same breast while I press. I am very tensed what to do please guide and my periods are happening every 20 days since 5 months. lybrate-user, It is better if you consult a surgeon regarding the problem with breast. If need be that lump can be removed, which a surgeon will be able to decide. Since you are on treatment for hypothyroidism, to be free of all symptoms related to that condition TSH should be around 3 to 4 mU/L. Also get a prolactin test done. Thanks.

I had posterior fistula in ano which got operated on last tuesday through laser treatment. It has been 8 days since surgery. Now, since last 5 days, I have been experiencing some kind of thick yellowish white fluid inside the operative area. I thought it as pus. One doctor after seeing the picture, he told me that it's pus. Some another doctor told me that it's plasma mixed with motion or a fluid while wound is healing. I am worried that what it is actually. It generally stays there and comes out while gas passing or sneezing. The fluid doesn't have any bad smell. Please let me know that is it normal to have and will subside of it's own through dressing and sits bath? I am currently taking lizoforce 600 bd (prescribed for 5 days) and a pain killer.

There may be discharge after surgery for 15-20 days till the wound heals.
Continue sitz bath & application of metrogyl based ointment.

My husband age 35 had pleural effusion tb since july 2018. He has taken anti tb medicine for 9 months. But his chest pain is not decreased. Whenever he takes deep breathing, or sneeze or yawns he feels pain in chest. His tb medicine completed yesterday. Then he went to the doctor and he advised chest x-ray and pulmonary function test .his reports are normal and the water in his lungs completely dried. His doctor has prescribed him medicine paracetamol 650 mg and lizoforce 600 mg for 5 days. Please suggest me when his chest pain will completely healed. And why Dr. has given these medicines. Please help.

Hi. I’m a 24 year old female. I’m getting white pustules all over my head since past two years. I’ve been on linox 600 mg for 7 days twice a day. It dries up the pustules but they return back in 15 days. I’ve tried other antibiotics too but they return back in 15 days. I’ve tried homeopathic medication as well but no relief. Whenever I’m about to get a pustule my scalp first swells. Then becomes reddish and then it turns into a white pustules which is very itchy and pains when touched. When they dry up they turn into a crusty thing which keeps sticking to my scalp unless I gently peel it off. Kindly help me with my situation as it’s getting worse day by day.

You should do the following;
1) get a pus culture done 2) I would advice a scalp biopsy including a pustule in it 3) get a blood screen for usual investigations.

Hi. I'm a 22 year old female. I am a student. I have white pustules on my scalp since past 6 months. My dermatologist gave me amoxicillin 500 mg initially. The pustules went away for a week's time and returned back. Then my dermatologist recommended me linox 600 along with vizylac, twice a day on 12 hourly basis for a week. The pustules went away for 15 days and came back again. Then she took my skin prick test and asked me to avoid the things I was allergic to. I even did that. But nothing helped. The pustules are still on my scalp. They are filled with yellowish/white puss and has redness around its boundaries. They pain when touched with the Brussels of the comb. Please suggest me some medicine to permanently get rid of them. As they are causing me lot of hair fall too. I'm scared since no remedy of my dermatologist worked .

Health Query

I have developed multiple lumps in both the arm pits which are reddish in colour, doctor has diagnosed it as hidradenitis suppurativa, earlier I took oral medication ie Clavam 625 for seven days but yielded no result. Then I was given IV LINEZOLID in the hospital for two days and discharged. Now its 5 days since discharge but the lumps have re occurred, Wbc count is 13700, band forms 9%, rest all shows normal in the report before starting the medication. Kindly advice.

Which was diagnosed as left cervical lymphadenitis the condition is repeating after almost a month. And has repeated fourth time. He has been on antibiotics like zifi for 3 or 5 days. And on the last occasion linezolid for 14 days. But it has again repeated with same symptoms. A little worried wants to seek expert advice. Please help.

Just check for painful swelling behind ear. Pinna. If so then any scalp condition can cause it. Otherwise it is part of cold and due to seasonal change. Just cold medicine will help child for both. It will subside in 2-3 days. Or else you can visit Dr.in your area. Thanks.
