hello. the doctor has prescribed appropriate medication to you. you need to drink atleast 4 to 5 lit of water so that the calculus wash off with urine. 8 mm size is a borderline size. you can avoid surgery but if medical therapy fails you can opt for surgery. now a days URS is done. no incision. stone will be removed through cystoscope. thanks
