Sir my son aryan age 12 always stuffy nose ,some time pain in nose. We have seen some swollen head upper skull in middle. It pains after touching. Now days a doctor advised it is sinus. He has given medicine of 15 days. Given medicines are levofloxacin 250 mg. Fluoral.and a to z.one ayurvedic medicine tribhuvan kirti ras with honey.

Hi, Lybrate-user good to know that your son has already started medication, I wish him speedy recovery. The treatment differs as explained following
1) in sinusitis usually nose pain won't be there, if nose pain is there then the nose infection (furunculosis) need to be ruled out
2) if still stuffy nose, headache, running nose, is there get one ct imagining of nose and pns and consult review.

Dear Doctor, just before few days my grandfather foley catheter was removed and he was feeling burning effect while urinating so doctor advised him to take levofloxacin 750 mg tablet namely l-cin 750 for 5 days along with alkasol. During course of medication he was not having any problem but just 1 day after stopping L-Cin 750 he is facing difficulty in urination. What should he do now. Should he use medicine for next few more days.

I had left pleural effusion and I am on ATT (rcinex, pz 1500, ethambutol 1200) for 1.5 month. On the start of treatment due to liver problem rifampicin was stopped for a week and levofloxacin 500 was added and after 1 week rifampicin 450 (earlier 600) started again and after that I am normal but doctor tried to introduce rifampicin 600 (as my weight is 67 kg) but whenever I took rifampicin 600 I feel very weak and my head, palm ,ears get heated and I feel hot so I reverted to rifampicin 450 (attempted 3 times). Sir is this dose of rifampicin sufficient and is there any chance of getting MDR tb due to low dose (I never skipped a single dose. Rcinex 450/300, pz 1500, combutol 1200, levofloxacin 500)

There is no chance to get MDR TB I you taken low dose but it takes more time to cure. And with taking ATT medicine generally lver disturb so you can take liver supplement wd them.

I'm a 17 year old boy from nepal. 2 months ago ,suddenly one day I masturbated, my sperm count & volume was quite low than usual .i thought it was normal but after a week ,i had so much of testicle pain.& I visited urologist, my ultrasound report was normal but doctor told me to do urine test & with my culture report ,i was diagnosed with staphylococcus aureus .in report, I am resistance to nitrofurantoin, cefixime, ofloxacin, amoxicillin, amikacin, cefepime, co-trimoxazole, ciprofloxacin but sensitive to levofloxacin, ceftriaxone, & amikacin. Doctor gave me levofloxacin for 1 week, my pain was somehow cure through that antibiotic but again after a week my pain is back,& this has almost become 1.5 months, my pain is not severe but whenever I touch testicle ,it pains & one most serious ,tensed thing for me is my sperm count is still being lowered ,its volume has become low. Whenever, I research on staph infection, it stays it can lead to infertility so please please suggest me what to do ,im so tensed. Please help me doctor ,what should I do should I visit same doctor or? Im very worried mainly regarding my sperm volume. Plz.

Your symptoms are suggestive of epididymo-orchitis, infection of the testis and cord structures, kindly repeat a urine routine examination and perform an ultrasound examination of testes, get back to me with the reports for medications.

Hello, the other day I had to go to the emergency room because I was having severe twitching/spasms all over my body, was unable to concentrate and was losing balance (even when I was only sitting), my heart felt as if it was going really quickly and my chest felt right and I was unable to really think and felt like I was about to pass out. As I was shaking I could only describe how I was feeling as 'spacey' as if I was about to faint or be physically sick and not really with it' I also had a some very crazy and verging on hallucinagenic dreams in the time I was trying to sleep before this happened. I was in a foreign country at the time so it was difficult to communicate and the standard of healthcare is not perceived as being too great. This happened hours after my second dosage of prescribed meptin, levofloxacin and broncolidator (i had been prescribed this a few days earlier for a chest infection bronchitis). Other medicine I had been taking included finasteride (for hair loss) and fluoxetine (for anxiety - although had stopped using this about a week or so before hand). The doctors gave me a ct scan, and a number of other tests when I arrived at the emergency room and after a number of hours the symptoms lessened and I was starting to feel better although I still don't feel great. They told me it was probably an allergic reaction to levofloxacin and meptin so I should stop taking that and use amoxicillin for the chest infection. I am grateful for the care I received and for their diagnosis but as it felt very serious and was very scary (particularly for my girlfriend who was with me) i'd like to kindly seek some input on whether the diagnosis sounds correct or whether it could have been something else. Thank you all for any help - I really appreciate it.

The diagnosis is almost correct. It can be a reaction of one of the medicine. Which one is difficult to decide.
My suggestion is to take homoeopathic treatment which has minimum medicine and no side effects.

I am having pain in my both feet along with stiff feeling. Pain in heels, and in my joints of my palm. Especially when I stand I feel my legs very tired so much so I can't stand or walk. I have a back pain too. I took gemcal and maxmala forte for two months, prescribed by neurologist but I didn't find much relief. What is the actual reason for my sufferings. Sir before 4 months my morning erection goes out. But it some time come like 40% of time and (I am not done sex yet) After 15 days some infection in my urine. I feel some uncomfortable in penis. Urologist give me antibiotique for 1 month but no relief. So I decide done Cystoscopy and found infection and urethral structure. Doctor give antibiotics and cauterization for 5 days. And give again antibiotics for 1 month. But after this I found my morning erection totally goes out (25 days go). I feel some irritation in penis till now. I done all test in hospitalisation all are OK. But why my morning erection not come? Why I did not relief from infection after taking long term medicine (levofloxacin)?

THEN again H/R/Z/E/S/Levofloxacin is again, LFT is done on2 dec sgpt 145and sgot72. During this period fever Pleural effusion, loss of appetite and weakness continue.

I have suffering with red spots in inner thigh for 3 months. No itching problem but this rash reappears when I left taking medicines. Sometimes I doubt Can allopathy can't treat this? I clean my clothes in warm water. I did everything what I could. But my bacterial infection reappears. I want to get rid of it.
