There are certain side effects of Levipil such as excess anger, psychosis. In addition 500 mg once daily is a suboptimal dose if sure an adult of around 60 kgs. One fainting episode may not always be a seizure and requires a detailed work up.

ideally it is to be started 500 mg twice a day and if required it can be increased to 1gm twice a day... max dose is 3 gm per day but usually not required

Levipil (levetiracetam) is comparatively safer drug, broad spectrum anti epileptic drug. Only mild adverse events and safe to use when liver functions are deranged. During the switching period, you may get seizure as it may take a week or two for acquiring steady drug level in blood.
