You should ideally take the advise of your doctor so that proper precautions can be taken to avoid complications or drug interactions. It is also better to focus on eating habits and exercising ( including yoga ) everyday. Read about healthy lifestyle changes which can bring the sugar levels in good control in the long run.

If your blood is getting clot recurrently then it needs evaluation. Usually patients with positive thrombophilia profile need to take life long blood thinners, if it's negative then 6 months course is enough. Antiepileptics can't be stopped if you had seizures in past 6 months.
