Epilepsy is due to a variety of causes. It can be cured in some with acquired causes but not in those with genetic or irreversible acquired causes. The minimum duration for your drugs is 2 years in most cases but in case you have been labelled jme, you are required to take ot lifelong.

Better consult your physician and then change any medicine. Don't take risk of taking treatment from a doctor who does not know about your case.

Hello-
women taking levepsy may develop pcos, while men may have sperm abnormalities and/or sexual dysfunction. Liver enzyme inducing aeds may also cause menstrual and sexual disorders in women and sexual dysfunction in men. Newer aeds are much safer but studies still suggest reduced sexuality and erectile dysfunction.

Dear lybrate-user,
it is difficult to comment whether it was a myoclonic jerk or not but I feel that it was not a myoclonic jerk, it was a reflex movement on suddenly viewing your shadow. You continue on same medication and follow up.
