Both of them have the same drug.
But each ones absorption and duration of action is modified by manufacturing process of the drug.
If your doctor has prescribed it for fits control, she/he must have calculated the peak action of the drug around the time of fits. So, take accordingly for effective control of fits.

Brivaracetam can surely cause mood swing though less than levetiracetam. However, occasionally levetiracetam can cause less behavioral disturbances when compared to brivaracetam .there are many antiseizure drugs that does not worsen mood or anxiety like lamotrigine or carbamazepine. These two drugs rather stabilize mood. Alternatively, levetiracetam can be restarted after discussing with a neurologist as levetiracetam dose can be increased more that what your son was taking.

Hello,
though this kind of problem as a side effect of levera is not recorded and as you have been taking medicine for years and the dose has been decreased the chance of side effects of this nature are less. This is a kind of startle syndrome and does not seem to be part of seizures or side effects some medicine I think adequate rest and proper sleep may get rid both of your pain and startle syndrome, best to review after 2 weeks.

Levetiracetam is pregnancy category b3. It is not linked to major birth defects. Also it does not put the unborn child’s cognitive or language development at risks according to latest studies. This is extremely encouraging for young women who are responsive to levetiracetam.
You may plan a pregnancy while on this drug without much anxiety.
