Have a question, having pcos. N trying to conceive. Have been on letroze for 6 cycles till now. Doctor has prescribed for one last time this cycle. Then she will tell about other option, I wanted to know how many cycle can I take letroze on safe side. Should I skip letroz n proceed with ovul sonography or should I continue with letroze this cycle.

Yes letrozole can be taken for maximum six cycles, thereafter should go for other methods. Whether you can skip letroz or not depends on the state of your ovaries on d2 or 3 of your cycle. Depending on the findings it can be decided.

Hai doctor. Me and my wife are in treatment with doctor gynecologist she has a slight pcod issue but not much. So before we even meet doctor her period max happened on 35th day. That was before 3 months. From the time we met doctor its not moved more than 32nd day. Doc had guided to have metformin tablet and folic acid tablet and try to contact. We tried but not successful. So doc told to have letroz 2.5 mg tab and try. My wife took letroz tab on 7th day till 11th day as 5 day course. And we tried from 10th day till 22nd day. This time she has very bad breast pain nd very much tiredness which she has never gone through. So I wanted to get your feedback doctor. Till yesterday 36th day periods did not happen. She has been to work this morning and from there she messaged me that she got her periods this morning 37th day,

Letroz needs to be taken for 5 days from second day of periods. It has to be taken under medical supervision and follicular monitoring is required.

I had conceived on clomid thrice, two miscarriages and one ectopic now my doctor prescribe me letrozole. My amh is 1.8 but my doctor told me that your situation is quite similar to pcos and your ovaries outer layer is thick and it can't properly release an egg so l want to know that which one is better clomid or femara, please suggest me some good options.

Both are equally effective but endometrium is better with letroz. Your problem is not conception but retention of pregnancy. If you get pregnant this time, consult your doctor regarding heparin injections.

My wife, age 30, was suffering from pcod and got treated by 3 month oral contraceptive pills. She conceived by giving normoz and folic acid but miscarriage occurred at 8 th week. She again suffered from pcod and irregular periods. Afterwords she had no follicular growth in subsequent mc but after giving normoz follicular growth was there but ovulation not occurred. Again after prescription she took letrozole and this time follicle growth occurred and she was given hcg 5000 inj. This time ovulation occurred but did not conceive. Afterwards due to lighten we could not consult to doctor. But as a safe side from pcod she took normoz for two months. Now in this cycle we found a pathology open for follicular monitoring, she had started taking letrozole 2.5 mg from 3rd day to 7th day. Today is third day. I want to know whether normoz should also be taken with letrozole + folic acid. Or letrozole should be taken as single along with folic acid tabs. Please guide us. Thanks. Normoz helps in progesteron synthesis and is a useful drug in pcod. Letrazole can be combined with it for induction of ovulation. Folic acid is to prevent fetal anomaliies if pregnancy occurs.

Usually letrozole is started at 2.5 mg and it is increased if ovulation has not taken place with this dose. So on taking low dose may not cause ovulation. But this can be confirmed only through folliculometry.

Myself 25 years old, trying for pregnancy for 2 years, last month I went for treatment with letrozole 2.5 had 20 mm follicle size, hcg 5000 injection, sure 200 for 15 days, 2 days after I had my periods, when I went for ultrasound the ovarian follicle had formed cyst 21 mm. What should I do next, will normal ovulation occur for this month, any problem which affect conception?

Hi,
do not worry. Hcg 10,000 iu will help. For ovulation induction along with letroz inj hmg can also be used. This need not repeat.

You can. Any couple desirous of pregnancy and not getting same naturally must meet Gynecologist or infertility specialist accepting facts that it needs many reports and different trials of treatment. Means couple must have patience and go to one in whom they have trust to stick for long time.

You can
in pcod ovulation- release of ovum is deranged because of hormonal changes. So long time different trials are required to treat same so with patience continue consulting gynecologist or infertility specialist in whom you have trust.

I am 29 years old with history of pcod from 5 yrs. Trying for baby from one yr. Dr. had put me on ginette 35 and metform 1000 for 3 cycles. This time letroz 2.5 mg once a day from 5th day for 5 days then divahmg 75 injection in 15th and 16th day once a day. On 19th day tvs ovaries are bulky in size. Left ovary-128.8 mm follicle right ovary- 11.19.3 mm. I have partial bicornuate uterus with 9.8 mm septal thickness. What to do. Dr. is saying no hope for this cycle. Today 23rd day.

As you are on hcg injection, ovarian size has to be monitored to exclude hyperstimulation syndrome. It is ideal to try for next cycle.
