My orthopedic doctor gave me tablet gabapentin nt. And pharmacist gave me gabapin nt. I want to know if it is safe to use as after taking tablet gabapin nt I feel drowsy and high. (also I have read on google about tablet that it is used for seizures and rls (restless leg syndrome) and also for nerve pain. Ps: I have suffered from sprain in acl and my doctor gave me tablet gabapentin nt and tablet dupact and also a hinged knee brace. I have been told to take tablet at night. My injury is 6 months old, I fell from side and hurt my left knee. I started to feel uncomfortable and pain while jogging, squatting, using staircase. After an mri about 5-6 months later the above prescription was given.

You can take gabapentin nt if your pain is severe. Otherwise other painkillers will be enough and you have to bear the drowsiness. Seizures and rls are very rare side effects of gabapentin nt. So don't worry. Also if your pain doesn't decrease you should show it to sport medicine specialist.

I fell from my two wheeler 6 months ago and hurt my knee. X-ray was normal. Still had pain while folding leg or climbing stairs, jogging etc. So after mri of my left knee the report says “anterior cruciate ligament shows mild sprain, grade-1 mcl sprain. Minimal joint effusion”. My doctor prescribed my medicine: tab dupact - 30 days gabapentin nt - 15 days. I google about gabapentin nt and found that it is used for seizures. I just want to know is it safe to take. (ps: I have also been given a knee brace)

You have ligament sprain, and you r symptomatic too, if after 6 month you r symptomatic then there might be little extensive injury than sprain. Get it clinically checked by arthroscopy surgeon, we have good treatment available, there is no need for you to suffer this long.

For the past 6 years I am suffering from tired legs through out day and night above ankle and below knee. I have tried physiotherapy, if treatment, massaging, calcium/D3 tablets, nerve soothing medicines such as oxetol, gabapentin. No improvement. I walk daily for 40 minutes in the morning. I do not know my symptoms refer to CFS, RLS, shin splint. I am 76 years old otherwise healthy. Can you give us a clue for cause and treatment.

Cause may be improper blood supply and solution is cold and hot water sikai
keep two small bucket with you and two towel put one in ice water and other in warm water
start with cold water and change to hot water do it for 5-10 mins 4 times in a day I think that will help in your pain.

Health Query

I have back pain (lower)last four months. I have pain on the lower part of right shoulder blade also. Sometime i feel pain in the middle back head. MRI of whole spine show no abnormality. Doctor suggest pregabolin first. As i feel imbalance taking after drug then he suggest gabapentin. But pain is not reduced. What can i do?

If u sitting in the chair for a long hour then your pain reason could be trigger points r developing in the shoulder region.
Go for myofacial release therapy in physiotherapy departmet and teach some exercises for your back. U will get permanant relief.

Hi my spouse is suffering from frequent pain from last 2 and a half months near the rectum area. Colonoscopy done and it was normal also MRI done which shows little disc but doctor told it's with every person above 30 years. She takes Gabaneuron, Gabapentin, osteovin D3, ashwagandha, shelcal. But still she is in pain. Also she is in Lactation to a 1 year baby. Please help me i'm very sad regarding this and I love her so much, and I don't want to see her in this pain.

Continuous electric feeling through my fore feet and I experience a sharp contraction kind of a feeling on my lower back when I stand for a while. I have been experiencing this from past Friday. There is no back pain but that electric feeling is staying forever till now. I have been suggested to use gabapentin but it was of no use I see no difference in the behavior please suggest. My leg movement is normal but that electric feel is heavy.
