Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
It is good to see that both BP and blood glucose are fairly well controlled. Increase in microalbuminuria and creatinine suggests that kidney are getting affected mostly due to diabetes.
One of the group of drugs recommended for hypertension with diabetes is ACE-Inhibitors like Lisinopril, Enalepri or ARBs like Losartan, Telmisartan or Olmesartan etc. Thanks.

Dry cough per say has no relationship with diabetes. It is usually associated with either throat irritation, infection or problems related to lungs Please tell me is she on any drug for high BP like Ramipril or Lisinopril? Because these drugs (ACE - I) can produce dry cough as a side effect.
In your information there is absolutely no information on blood glucose control - like Fasting, PP glucose levels, & HbA1c%, so no way to comment on that aspect. T...more

One treatment is to control high blood pressure, especially if that’s the underlying cause of the GN. Blood pressure may be very hard to control when your kidneys aren’t working properly. If this is the case, your doctor may prescribe blood pressure medications, including angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors) such as:
Captopril
Lisinopril
Perindopril
Your doctor may also prescribe angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), such as:
Losartan
Irbesartan

Chronic nephritis is a type of Glomerulonephritis (GN). In this condition, irritation takes place in the Glomeruli, which are parts in your kidneys comprising tiny blood vessels. These knots of vessels filter your blood and remove excess fluids from the body. In case your glomeruli are harmed, your kidneys will quit working properly and you can suffer from kidney failure. It is a very serious illness that can be life threatening and requires immediate medical intervention.
