You can take a basugine (glargine) substitute for lantus it comes in vial form and much cheaper.
Ask your diabetologist to shift you from rapid acting lispro (humalog) to regular insulin (actrapid) which is cheaper but you need to take it 30 mins before each meal as action is little slower.

It is best to go for 3 times rapid acting insulin and daily once Lantus (glargine) or twice insulatard along with. Titrate dose to keep fasting below 120 and pp below 160.

Novorapid is a short, rapid acting insulin that is typically given in 3 shots/ day (called Bolus insulins shots), with each major meal. Some patients do develop high sugars after changing from lantus to basalog.
