Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the details given. Feeling sleepy just after lunch or dinner, is in no way related to diabetes per say. It could be due to improper sleep at night. Please increase your physical activity both in the morning and in the evening, that should give a sound sleep at night. Which in turn may improve the above situation.
As regards HbA1c% being normal, since there is no mention of actual fasting, PP and HbA1c% values, it is difficult to...more

Thanks for the query.
When diabetes goes on for some years even when it is well controlled there is possibility of developing neuropathy. The symptoms tend to increase if the control is not ood. Looking at your treatment already there are plenty of drugs. Still control is not as desired. Ideally fasting should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg and HbA1c% <6.8. Therefore, there is a need to give a closer look at your diet, and exercise first. Then if need be we may have to consider adding or chan...more

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
The medications used to treat diabetes and neuropathy, (which you are taking) are quite safe. These need to be taken for a very long time like 25 to 30 plus years by most patients who are treatment. There hardly any reports of side effects or problems being created in kidney or other vital organs. In fact if diabetes or high blood glucose is not well controlled that can cause severe kidney damage not the drugs. Thanks.
