Janumet Xr Cp Tablet Health Feed

I am type 2 diabetic. I am aged 25 yrs. I have consulted many doctors but most of all are suggesting either Istamet 50/500 mg or Janumet 50/500 mg or highly priced tablets. The cost is too high for these two tablets. There are other indian variant called Zita met which has Metformin (500 mg, Teneligliptin (20 mg) from Gelnmark. Teneligliptin is next generation of sitagliptin which was patented by mersk. Can I use this tablet instead of janumet and istamet?

I am a diabetic since 18 years aged 57 years. At present I am taking metride 2mg (glimpride 2mg metformin 500mg) before breakfast, Janumet before lunch (sitagliptin 50mg metformin 500mg) and metride 1mg ((glimpride 1mg metformin 500mg) before dinner. My question is whether same salt of other reputed manufacturer can be substituted with above medicines, because some times cost is about half of the medicine, If no, what can be the possible impact of changing the medicines without doctors advice.

Yes, you can change the medicines with suitable substitutes if the cost difference is huge. But, simply put the cost is often decided by various factors including quality. After all you cannot compare a sony tv and micromax tv both same size but cost is half. The bottom line is, that you sugars should be in target. Januvia has only sitagliptin while Janumet has two oral antidiabetics that is sitagliptin and metformin.
