A very common side effect of taking i-pill is a significant alteration in periods –they can either be early or be delayed. Most women will experience withdrawal bleeding at the scheduled or expected dates,
while some may get menses within 5 days. If you get periods earlier then expected date or on date, you can be assured that pregnancy has not taken place, but in case of delay in periods, it is best to take a pregnancy test one week over the expected date. This is largely a rare occurrence.

Yes, there is no fixed time in which one bleeds after taking emergency contraceptive pill. Sometimes unexpected bleeding occurs more over it is not necessary. Next menstrual cycle can be early or delayed as side effects of the pill. If taken within 24 hrs it is 95% effective.

When you're on the pill, it's okay to have sex anytime, even during your period week — the week when you don't take the pill or take placebo pills instead. As long as you've been taking your pill every day and starting your pill packs on time, you're protected from pregnancy even during that off week.
