Hello, Thanks for the query. The glucose levels mentioned are pretty high. Before deciding the treatment it is necessary to know her weight, height, extent of daily exercise, dietary pattern, plus HbA1c% then drugs can be decided. Thanks

It is very common in diabetics, you should control diabetes strictly. Also reduce stress / anxiety. For other physical causes you need to do blood tests hb, tc, dc, prolactin, tsh and testosterone. Stop smoking if you smoke. Check bp. If you are taking any medicine on regular basis (except for diabetes) then it may be due to side effect of that.

I dont think it is due to diabetes. She should feel happy with family and surroundings.Try make such an atmosphere.Give her due importance which she desires.Involve her in discussion about family matters. She should not be kept in isolation,as regular interaction is must with elderly people.

Mr. Lybrate-user, excess use of cough syrups containing codeine for long time is not good. Codeine can lead to addiction, both physical and mental. Plus causes constipation. According to the company's own list of side-effects list it can cause cns depression, lassitude, drowsiness, loss of appetite, dizziness, blurring of vision, tightness in chest, hypertension etc. So such preparations should be used sparingly only for a very short duration. Thanks.

There is artificial insulin pump and also artificial pancreas which is being used in other parts of the world. But they work on mathematical algorithms for release of insulin in the body dependant on sugar load that the body is having- but they release synthetic insulin stored in them not natural insulin secreted by the body. The release mechanism is bought as close as to mimic natural pancreas behaviour. That's it!
body has many enzymes to control sugar level - but the most important and ef...more

Hi lybrate-user weight problem is one of the most common problems that affect millions of people. Approaching nutritionists and gym instructors for effective weight loss plans are effective fixes for this problem. Strangely, just like weight gain, people do struggle to gain a few pounds. Usually, people tend to think that following a weight gain diet is completely doable. But that is not completely true...more

Mr vivek, may I know why you are interested in shifting to insulin injections? usually in t2 dm people shit to insulin when the sugar control is not good with oral anti diabetic drugs. Hence please give details about current fasting, pp sugar levels and hba1c% and your physical activity. If you feel shifting is needed, it can be done any time and will help in better control.
