Lantus is a long acting insulin. It works for 20-24 hrs. Anyways since you have already taken lantus instead of humalog, you can still take humalog but make sure to monitor your sugars as there can be possibility of hypoglycemia later on which you need to be aware of & avoid it by taking good at that point of time.

No it won't become useless. In fact vial or cartridge in use should be at room temperature.Nothing will happen upto one month.

Adding somef oral medicine will help to control your sugar.
