Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. There is no mention of current fasting, PP glucose levels and HbA1c%. Therefore, no idea about the control at present. You can look at protein powders that give 60 to 80 % proteins and NO SUGAR in them. There are quite a few. Thanks.

You might be having rebound hyperglycaemia in your fasting sample, because with 25 units of actrapid your post meal level is 145 only meaning insulin is effectively controlling it. Possibly after the evening dose of insulin and a longer interval between dinner and lunch, by the early hours of morning your blood sugar might be going below normal without your knowledge while you are asleep. Use a 100U/ml syringe (orange cap) for the 100u/ml vial or use a 40U/ml syringe (red cap) for 40u/ml vial. As long as u dont mix them up, you will do just fine. All pen cartridges come as 100u/ml concentration only. Never mix up the syringes or pen cartridges

Hello, thanks for the query.
Actarapid is a human insulin with rapid action. Apidra is also a rapid acting insulin but the compound is different. Actions are similar as both have rapid action and that stays for 4 to 6 hours. Both are used to control after food glucose rise. Dosage can be similar. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, There is brand by name "Mixtard 30/70 InnoLet 3 ml injection. Usually concerned company persons do visit and explain how to use the Insulin Pens. So while buying it from the local chemist ask him to send the particular company representative to demonstrate the usage. The cartridges are 3 ml while vial is bigger. So please get all the details before switching over. Pens are definitely much easier to use. Thanks.
