Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. You have given the glucose level as 170 /250 mg, do you mean to say fasting is 170 mg & pp is 250 mg? Is that so? What is the hba1c%? It is important to know that, because it gives a long term view of glucose control. To give any advise I need to know hba1c%, exact fbg & pp levels, serum creatinine, urea, dietary pattern & extent of daily exercise. One can definitely change from 30/70 insulin to glargine, but dosage n...more

However, if for some reason glucose control is not good, then one has to look at all the aspects of the treatment that is lifestyle management particularly diet pattern, then extent of daily exercise, weight control and then drugs. So it is difficult to give a straight answer whether you can increase the dosage of insuli...more

The use of lantus can be combined with either a short acting or intermediate acting insulin depending upon the sugar values and its your doctor judgement to decide the dosage because short actings effects will last for three hours and intermediate effects will last for eight hours.

U100 and u40 is different. If you will commit mistake in that than there can be dangerous outcome. And your sugar will go haywire. And also both insulin is different. Ask your diabetologist about it.

Hello pp is high .. need to be controlled.. I suggest you to give him Homeopathic treatment Along with allopathic Medicines. it helps to maintain sugar levels to normal and prevents complications.. once sugar levels are normal slowly we can cut off allopathic medicines.. you can consult me online for Homeopathic treatment..no side effects..
