Hello, thanks for the query.
The newer insulins (analogues) are expensive. The advantage with those is better glucose control and less chances of hypoglycemia episodes. However, if cost is the consideration, then one can still manage with older inulins only thing is more number of injections and more meticulous dosage adjustment is required. If you can manage that then you can continue with old ones. I am sure you are aware that ideally hba1c% should be < 7%, that means you need to increase ...more

Hi,
I can understand your predicament but it is very important to realise that problem might not be the type of insulin you are taking. For example mixtard insulin is as good as ryzodeg in terms of reducing hba1c. However if you are experiencing low sugars with mixtard which is again impacting your hba1c levels, then ryzodeg does help as it will cause less significant low sugar level, also called hypoglycaemia, when compared to mixtard.
Please let me know if you have any problems with ki...more

Use a 100U/ml syringe (orange cap) for the 100u/ml vial or use a 40U/ml syringe (red cap) for 40u/ml vial. As long as u dont mix them up, you will do just fine. All pen cartridges come as 100u/ml concentration only. Never mix up the syringes or pen cartridges

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
Hello, to give an opinion on whether sglt-2 inhibitor will be helpful to you, or not I need to know quite a few things like serum creatinine, weight, height, egfr, diet pattern and extent of daily exercise & hba1c%. After going through those details only I will be able to give a specific answer. Thanks.

They are slightly different in composition. So there will be difference in onset and peak action. However, you can try it and see whether the blood sugar control is acceptable. Your fasting and pp levels are high it should be below 130 and 180 respectively. Also get an hba1c done to have a better understanding of your blood sugar control.
