Treatment for t1 dm is only insulin injection. If glucose levels are not controlled then dosage may have to be increased. Plus there is a need to take proper diet, that provides exact amount of calories. It is necessary to avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, bakery items, foods made of maida. If you are now 28 years old & have been using insulin for 15 years, you started insulin at 13 years of age. Right? if so, do you have type 1 diabetes? if yes, insulin is the only option for you. Unfortunately, there are no tablets to treat type 1 diabetes. You have to continue insulin, life long.

Yes you can continue insulin if your sugars are well controlled. If not then you might need to alter insulin dosage.

G Vvc in t1 diabetes treatment is only insulin injections because pancreas is not at all producing it. Beta cells which produce insulin are all dead. So only insulin injection works. Tablets are not supposed to be taken in t1 dm.

If you are Type 1 diabetic insulin is only option.If you can afford you can go for insulin pump which injects insulin automatically.
