I am a patient of CML and on imatinib for last 4 months. My cbc of 17/07- WBC-4840RBC-3.21:platelet-1.3 :Hgb-9.5 and no further anomalies are discovered. But I feel I have swollen lymph nodes in my neck and groin. Sometimes I feel them sometime I don't. They are not very large and am not having any physical problem.

Its unfortunate that your sister is suffering with blood cancer. As per history she might having cml, and receiving imatinib for treatment. Imatinib is known to cause musculoskeletal pain. Some time simple analgesic is helpful in getting relief of pain but many a times is due to more complex process that involve calcium and phosphate handling of body.

Hi, I had no any problem but my stomach left side spleen got enlarged as doctor and reports decided massive splenomegaly found and later after all blood check up tests and bone marrow sample test all these test results as chronic myeloid leukemia cml having. So doctor given me to take TABLET IMATINIB 400 mg daily for lifelong, my Question is after having this tables and after long days if my spleen got reduced and get into normal shall can I stop my taking tablets. There are minor side effects of imatinib. Not everyone gets them. You need to discuss them with your hematologist.
Don't stop the medicine until you doc tells you to.

There are different types of blood cancer. Treatment is different for different cancers. As you have mentioned he was started on imatinib tablets he might be having CML (chronic myeloid leukemia). It may take a month or two to become blood counts normal. He needs to repeat bone marrow examination after 3 Months of starting tables to assess response.

Dear there is a medicine for a type of blood cancer known as chronic myeloid leukemia (cml). The name of the drug is imatinib mesylate (not imatenef as seen in those messages). Hi, I am seeking out an expert opinion regarding my sister-in-law’s health condition. She had asthma in past and was allergic to dust. But then in the recent past she was diagnosed with “essential thrombocythemia” wherein her platelet count reaching 14 Lakh mark. In such a condition, a doctor prescribed Imatinib 400 tablet (OD). We were fearing as this is a tablet to fight varieties of cancer. Upon asking as to why this medicine was prescribed, doctor said that he is doubting weather this increase in platelet count is related to myeloproliferative neoplasms cancer or acute leukaemia, so he prescribed this medication. Now last week she was diagnosed with stones in both kidney and we are suspecting this medicine to be the cause of that. She is getting married in April and we have no clue where to go and whom to ask for help. I am sharing all the recent reports. Kindly guide us in right direction. Do we really need to take this medication? Is she developing cancer?

If a diagnosis of Essential thrombocythemia is being considered, then you should see a clinical hematoloist .Imatinib is unlikely to cause renal stone.
