It can cause sudden hypoglycemia with dry mouth, sweating, skin becomes cold, pulse weak. Give glucose or sugar. Correct dose of insulin should be given as per doctor advice.

Strabismus is also called Squint. Usually, it is a chronic condition. However, in hypoglycemia, during the attack, some patients squint. I can't comment on your mother's condition without more info. In the meantime, take her to an Ophthalmologist.

She may have to modify insulin doses after consulting physician. in addition to treatment she has to follow the advice given below
1.Do regular exercise
2.Reduce weight if overweight
3Control diet
4.Avoid sweets, excess calorie and carbohydrate rich diet, .
5.Adhere to a strict diabetic diet by consulting Dietitian
6.Monitor your fasting, PP blood sugar and Hba1c three monthly
7.Consult diabetologist for advice and treatment

I have read the info, but it is very general. There are no specific details like age, weight, height, blood glucose levels, HbA1c%, dosage of Insulin, any other medications patient may be on, BP readings, lipid profile, any other ailment if the patient has, diet pattern. Avoid spicy food items and not to eat junk food and we also need to avoid peanuts and potatoes in our daily diet and For constipation I will suggest you to eat food with high fiber content like green leafy vegetables and can also eat bananas at bedtime as it is effective as a laxative and if necessary take 10 ml of syp cremaffin at night
