Do a usg abdomen for kidney status.
Do a 24 hour urinary protein level.
Sometimes if you have simple uti that also gives traces of albumin in urine.
Get your bp checked.
Avoid salt and painkillers.
Still if you wish. Its better to consult a nephrologist rather than a urologist.

In diabetes due to increase in blood glucose levels, there is damage to micro (small) & Macro (large) blood vessela. Because of affection to small blood vessels in the kidney, the filtering membrane gets progressively damaged. This leads to increased leakage of proteins from glomerulus.
