Polio vaccination by oral drops is certainly painless .If you are asking about IPV which is injection it is not very painful and only calpol is enough if there is any pain.

Give baby some analgesic paracetamol drops 0.5 ml 4 5imes a day. Hardness will subside within 3 to 4 weeks. If abscess formation is there show the baby physically to child specialist.

There are both types of vaccine and the most commonly used now is intradermal vaccination on 0,3,7,28 days
The 2-site regimen prescribes injection of 0.1 mL at 2 sites (1 in each of the deltoid and thigh) on days 0, 3, 7 and 28.
