Hello.
Medical abortion is safe with a high success rate if done before 9 weeks of pregnancy.
However, in 5% of cases, there may be incomplete abortion and heavy bleeding requiring hospital admission and surgical management.
So it's very important that you do medical abortion following proper protocol and in guidance of a local gynaecologist who can take care and manage in case of emergency.

Now you have to get an ultrasound done to confirm the complete abortion, this is the ideal protocol.
But if due to lock down, you are unable to get it done see urine for pregnancy test again and keep watch on bleeding.

Abortion pills should be strictly be taken after medical evaluation of gynaecologists. Kindly consult a gynaecologist for your own good health. Excezsive bleeding in abortion can be life threatening.

No taking the pills may not affect future pregnancy. However try to use protection as repeated abortions can be harmful for you and chances of further pregnancy. For further advice connect with me online. Take care.

Hello Lybrate user. If after 24 hours the woman has no bleeding, and she is sure that she is pregnant AND that the pregnancy develops in the uterus she can repeat the misoprostol dose of 4 tablets. The first pill mifepristone will work up to 72 hours. The urine pregnancy tests will only be reliable 3-4 weeks after the abortion.
