He seems to be in advance stage cancers, please provide best supportive care. Smelly discharge can be due to infection, you can get a culture sensitivity of sputum done and give antibiotics under supervision of a physician. Nebulization also may help him by clearing respiratory passage. There are organization providing hospice or terminal care at home, you can contact them for home based remedy.

depending on the medical condition, a peg feeding tube may be temporary or permanent. However, those with more permanent neurologic damage may require a feeding tube long-term.
