Mr Gopalkrishnan, Thanks for the query.
One of the most common long term complications of long standing diabetes is erectile dysfunction. This happens even when blood glucose is fairly well controlled. But is glucose levels are not in proper control then ED tends to happen quite early. This is due to the microvascular damage in penile muscles. Once the damage sets in it is unlikely to reverse. There are certain drugs like PDE - IV inhibitors which can be helpful. But maintaining strict gluco...more

Do kegel exercises-- firstly, find the pelvic floor muscles. You can achieve this by stopping mid-stream two or three times the next time you urinate. The muscles you can feel working during this process are the pelvic floor muscles, and they will be the focus of kegel exercises.
One kegel exercise consists of tightening and holding these muscles for 5 seconds and then releasing them. Try to do between 10 and 20 repetitions each day. This may not be possible when you first start doing the ex...more

Hello Lybrate user taking medicine for pain relief will not resolve your problem permanently. We need to treat your root cause otherwise eventually you will land up with anal stenosis. So better consult local doctor in your area. Till than lots of fluid, high fibre diet & laxatives to avoid constipation. Sitz bath (sitting in luke warm water for 30 min) twice a day.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. Tablet nitrocontin is usually very well accepted. Some patients may get certain side effects like headache, dizziness and or low bp. But her blood pressure seems to be quite normal. Then there is no reason to worry. However, if her physician is available on phone do consult him or her once. Thanks.

Hello lybrate-user,
I am sorry to hear about your problem.
Firstly, I would like to emphasize that you need to try and quit smoking.
Smoking itself is a risk factor for hypertension.
Your overall blood pressure is on the higher side. Your medications need to be increased and adjusted.
If your ecg is normal then you probably don't have a heart attack.
Please don't take sorbitrate as a routine medication if you don't have chest pain. Sorbitrate is not a medication for anxie...more
