I am experiencing frequent urination since last 5 days now. This started to happen after I introduced kutki powder and basil seeds to my daily routine. Neither do I feel have any burning sensation. Urine quantity is even normal. Feels like going every 45 mins or even less sometimes. I consulted a bhms doc in my locality and he gave me norfloxacin and tinidazole tabs and himalaya renalka syrup. It some what did good after 3 days of use but as the meds are exhausted the situation has come back. Not sure what's causing it, I recently made changes to my diet and consume 180 gms protein a day. 7 egg whites in the morning, 300 gms cooked boneless chicken plus 1 cucumber, 1 tomato & 1 carrot as a part of salad and the same menu is repeated in the dinner. One litre cow milk throughout the day. I was on pexep cr 12.5 for 20 days due to general anxiety 10 days ago. Could any of these cause a frequent urination. How do I know what's actually going on?

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. Frequency of urine usually increases when there is urinary infection or a person has high blood glucose. There are other causes also but these two are commonest. So please get routine urine examination along with microscopy to see if there is any infection. Plus also get you blood glucose (fasting, pp & hba1c%) checked. You have not mentioned the age, so no idea abit it. However, with a bmi of 42 kgs /sq meter you are already having...more

This type of prostate enlargement isn't thought to be a precursor to prostate cancer.
With this condition, the urinary stream may be weak or stop and start. In some cases, it can lead to infection, bladder stones and reduced kidney function.
Treatments include medication that relaxes or shrinks the prostate, surgery and minimally invasive surgery.

I had diarrhea and gas problems yesterday most probably due to food poisoning. Situation yesterday: I started with digene in the morning. No relief. Then in the evening, I took 1 tablet of ranitidine 150 mg and 1 tablet of norflox-tz (norfloxacin 400 mg, tinidazole 600 mg, lactic acid bacillus 120 x 10^6 spores). Before sleeping I took 1 tablet of nutrolin-b plus (40 x 10^6 spores of lactic acid bacillus, pyridoxine hydrochloride 1 mg, nicotinamide 25 mg, cyanocobalamin 7.5 mcg, folic acid 750 mcg). Had a good night's sleep. Situation today: much better than yesterday. No gas. No diarrhea. But did not pass stool the whole day (opposite situation). I took 1 tablet each of norflox-tz and nutrolin-b plus after breakfast and dinner (total 4 tablets). Even lots of lemonade, water, and coffee did not help pass stool. How to cure this constipation? For the next 3 days I plan to: 1) have 1 tablet of ranitidine 150 mg every morning immediately after waking up. 2) 1 tablet each of norflox-tz and nutrolin-b plus after breakfast and dinner. But I am confused if I should replace each nutrolin-b tablet with the following two tablets: 1) darolac (which has multiple species of "good" microbes unlike nutrolin-b which has only lactic acid bacillus. This is to refill the gut with good microbes as the antibiotics have been doing mass destruction. 2) zincovit (multi-mineral and multi-vitamin) also, is it a good idea to have nutrolin-b plus / darolac with the antibiotic or after one hour of taking the antibiotic (or some other such delay in time)?

Yes tinidazole and alcohol do not go well together and you might need to use alcohol, if that is so necessary after you finish your course of antibiotics that include tinidazole or just that antibiotic alone. You may have what we call reactions when you combine tinidazole with alcohol that can many times be very uncomfortable and you might even end up in the emergency room. If you have further questions or would like to quit alcohol, do call us so that we can help you.

Hello lybrate-user
First of all, as you may know Norfloxacin is an antibiotic and it should not be taken unless prescribed by your doctor.
It is given for a documented or suspected UTI and should never be self prescribed, as it has some adverse effects and when taken injudiciously leads to increased resistance to antibiotics in your body and it would not work for you when you would really need one.
Please see a general surgeon/ urologist for your complaints.
Hope my answer was us...more
