Asked for male, 67 years old from Ghaziabad

I am 66. I have been shifted from glimestar m1 to reclimet-xr wh hand fingers. I was carrying my tests results as hba ic 7.5%, gf 113.5, abg 169 mg. After 15 days on reclimet-xr. Results were: hba ic. 7.2%, gf 106.6, 1 pp 186.9, egfr 89, total rbc 4.4, hemoglobin 12.5 g/dl, mchc 30. 7g/dl, pdw 22.18 fl, mpv 15.3 fl, pct .16%. When reported that no relief in stiffness & knee pain, I have been advised to take injection of aumento 100 mg- once a month for 3 months. I find, online, the side effects of this injection not in my favor as I was on prostate cancer medicine (kaluran) for 10 months till 27.12.2018 after my surgery in feb-18 for carcinoma prostate. I just want to know, 1. As there is no relief from stiffness in fingers & knee pain 2. Cancer therapy was just over in dec. 18. Shifting to reclimet xr (where glimepiride is just shot up from 1 mg to 60 mg) & the injection mention above is correctly prescribed in view of my circumstances.

Both of them have the similar chemical compound .after starting the substitution medication you can recheck the blood sugar after 1 week .If stable you can continue with substitution medication.

Overdose of this medicine can cause hypoglycemia and in this situation blood sugar needs frequent monitoring and for prevetion of fall of blood sugar take sugar and sweets accordingly.

For your father check his blood for HBA1c and monitor his sugar levels with a glucometer regularly and if need arises decrease the doses.

Your question is wrong.
You are suffering from Type 2 Diabetes.
Medicine can be suggested only after we know the blood sugar levels, HbA1c & some other tests.
