I presume he underwent prostate surgery for benign enlargement and cancer was detected incidentally. Hopefully an MRI and bone scan was done for staging to confirm that its a localised disease. We advise watchful waiting or active surveillance for those with localised, early stage and low risk disease or intermediate risk disease in patients with very high comorbidities, reducing the life expectancy of <10 years.

However, it is necessary to know the HbA1c%, which gives a clearer picture of glucose control p over previous 3 months. Fasting & PP values give information of just a day or two.
