Hello, Thanks for the query.
Your glucose levels appear fairly good. What is the HbA1c%? That would have given a clearer idea about the over all control. BP is high. Ideally it should be 120 to 130 / 70 to 80 mm Hg. Since no details of other parameters are given, difficult to comment. In this communication we are supposed to only give general guidelines. No prescriptions can be given. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
The glucose levels mentioned look fairly good. At those levels all the symptoms mentioned are unlikely to occur. You are already taking quite a few drugs to control blood glucose.
Looking at your weight and height with a BMI of 41.66 kgs/Sq meter(Normal < 23 kgs), you are already in severe morbid obesity. This is the major culprit. There is a need to reduce weight. Your ideal body weight should be 56 kgs, which means there is an excess of 44 kgs. Thanks.

If your renal function is ok add metformin 500 mg at lunch time. Also other medications like voglibose or acarbose are helpful, especially in controlling postprandial rise. It is better to consult a doctor before you make changes.

Cheers

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. Usually at your age hba1c% recommended is < 7%. However, if you are maintaining < 6% hba1c% means the control is excellent. If you have no problems or no troublesome issues of getting hypoglycemic episodes (glucose going < 70 mg), then there is no reason to reduce the drugs. Maintaining a lower glucose level and hba1c% is quite helpful in preventing any possible complications associated with diabetes. But if you have any time en...more
