Thank you for your enquiry.
That's ok. But your information is incomplete. Also you didn't mention your current blood sugars after changing medication.
Additionally I would like to advise you to do serum insulin and c peptide level for better understanding of your condition and so that I can advise you better. Do let me know more details.
For any further information or advice you can book an online consultation with me on Lybrate. Thank you. Take care.

Lybrate-user, being a diabetic and also over weight now going in for hypertension, You must make an active effort to lose weight. Brisk walk for 45 min to 60 min. Also keep ac heck on your diet. Lastly, if your BMI id high, Metabolic keyhole surgery is a valid option which will give you a 3 fold benefit of weight loss, remission of type 2 diabetes.

We advise watchful waiting or active surveillance for those with localised, early stage and low risk disease or intermediate risk disease in patients with very high comorbidities, reducing the life expectancy of <10 years.

Looking at the details I suggest you should shift to long acting basal analogue insulin like injection basalog, start with 6 units once a day and increase the dose based on daily blood sugar levels. You will have to do self monitoring of sugar levels. One of the oral medications namely metformin with glimepiride to be continued.
