Mr. lybrate-user subramanian, thor the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. However, the information given is very inadequate. Because there is no mention of actual glucose levels like fbg, pp glucose, hba1c%, weight, height, dietary pattern, lipid profile, bp readings, serum urea and creatinine. All these details are necessary because of your age. Another important aspect you are on an old compound glibenclamide which is known to cause severe hypoglycemia (low blood glucose). So if you...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. The glucose levels mentioned are too low and pretty dangerous. There is a need to reduce one of the drugs being taken. If the patient is 74 years old, then Glibeclamide (Glynase) needs to be discontinued as it has very long duration of action (over 16 hours) hence in older persons it tends to cause severe hypoglycemia. So please discontinue that and then after a week check the FBG & PP glucose. If you have any questions please do ...more

You have diabetes and require medication. I cannot comment on homeopathy or ayurveda regarding the same. Your sugar is very high, and given the HbA1c report, it has been high for a while. Diabetic foot when untreated or when the sugar is uncontrolled, leads to sepsis, and eventually amputation (cutting off the infected toe or leg). I suggest you visit a physician who will advise appropriate medication, even if he does give you a scary lecture. Your situation is definitely scary. You will also re...more
