Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
T2 diabetes is usually treated with oral drugs initially. In some cases if blood glucose control is not adequate, then Insulin injections are added. So there are many patients who are given both oral tablets and insulin to achieve proper control of blood glucose. Thanks.

Sometimes people who are under weight gluformin (metformin) is not good choice if sugars are not under control or hba1c is persistently high.
You should try and strictly follow diabetic diet (without direct sugar on day to day basis, oil restricted to 3 tsp daily- high fiber inform of vegetables fruits and sprouts) and regular minimum 45minutes exercise/walking/sports activity.

Dear, your sugars are well controlled with this therapy. Hba1c is also excellently controlled. But I observe that your bmi is slightly higher. In this context piopod 15 may lead to weight gain. Although it's a very good medicine to make insulin act better, weight gain negates it's good effect. You can use other newer drugs with good track records in place of piopod. But if you are comfortable with existing treatment then all the three medicines are available as a single tablet too which can redu...more
