Asked for female, 22 years old from Ahmedabad

Hi, my grandmother. She is suffering with covid 19 and is given medrol medicine for lung infection. We were told that her diabetes will get high after taking this medicine. Her regular doctor is not available right now. The doctor told us to increase the dose of the anti diabetic medicine her post prandial diabetes is 280 and we ll check the fasting tomorrow her normal medicines are: azulix mv 2/0.2 mg in morning and triglimisave 1 mg in evening. Can you please advise on how to increase the dose and when?

Hi, My mom is 55 years old, she underwent head (brain operation) 11 years ago due to a clot in the head. Currently she is undergoing neurological treatment since she becomes unconscious for few seconds due to seizures in brain. She is consuming, (Oxetol 300+300+150=750 mg, Lacoset 100+100=200 mg, Levepsy 500+500=100 mg and Nexito 10+5=15 mg) per day. Recently she had low blood pressure and we underwent an ecg test and her heart rate was 58. These were the results of ecg (HR 158bpm, PR interval 158ms, QRS duration 82ms, T duration 178ms, QT/Qtc 422/425ms, P/QRS/T Axis 67.4/45.8/46. 4 degree, R (V5) / S (V1) 0.55/0.35mV, R (V5) + S (V1) 0.90mV) Conclusions - Sinus Mode Bradycardia, Cardiac electric axis normal, aVL V4 V5 V6 Abnormal T wave. I assume the heart rate is low due to the medication she is undergoing? Please advise.

These do not usually cause bradycardia. Do a net search, first search for active ingredient of each of these medicines, next search: ingredient adverse effect sinus bradycardia for each of them.

Respected sir my name is meenakshi. My mother is suffering from 3+ tuberculosis which is diagnosed this month on 3 april and she is the patient of diabetes too. We have already started the dots treatment she is taking sugar medicines azulix mv 2/0.2 in the morning before breakfast after that she takes tuberculosis medicine from dots. And azulix mv1/0.2 before 10 minutes dinner. Her sugar level is under 160 normally. In the afternoon after lunch she is taking blood pressure medicines losamax - h neural - 10 in 10 minutes gap. She has productive cough and her temperature rises upto 102. I am really worried abt her condition sir. Please help me to get back my mother with your expert experience, suggest us a better way to make her treatment better ans faster. I will be grateful to you if you help us. The drugs mentioned Glimepiride and Voglibose are different in their action.
Metformin is supposed to reduce or delay glucose absorption and hence slows down blood glucose rise after taking food. Plus it also reduces insulin resistance hence helps blood glucose control. There are other beneficial effects like helps slight weight reduction.

Health Query

I am 70 yrs young presently suffering from back pain whih radiates to rt hip. Earlier in 2010 I had severe attack of sciatica in lt leg which was treated with gepapentin 75 mg and mv plus physiotherapy ift and back exercises. Now the present problem started in 2010 and taking all type of treatment and physiotherapy no improvement. Mri show degeneration of disc. I use to feel pain in rt hip while waking but now it is there even while I sit. Consulted neouro surgeon as well as physio and took treatment as suggested but no improvement. Can you help me please.

My father has been taking zoryl m1 in evening and zoryl m2 in night for last 10 years. However the sugar level hasn't been coming down for past 1 year i.e it is around 230 in fasting and 320 in pp. Now for past 1 month, he has started taking zoryl mv2 in morning and night and tendia m in day time before lunch. His sugar level has now come down to 170 in fasting and 230 in pp. His hba1c is 8.4. Please advise for how long he can continue with this combination for sugar control? Please advise if can continue with this combination for further 2 months to bring back the sugar level down? Many thanks. I also take one bp medicine alsartan 50 daily and my bp is under control.

your father seems to be quite overweight and he may need anti diabetic medications that help with weight reduction. You may have to consult online for further changes to medication
in the meantime I suggest the following

I am a diabetic since last 22 yrs, my age is 66 when my fbs was 125, ppbs 241 and hba1c 7.1 I was prescribed semi amary before bf ,amaryl mv 2 before lunch and trajenta 5 after dinner but after 2 months my sugar not controlled and become fbs was 170 and ppbs 300 I was then started taking diamicron xr 60 twice a day, torglip 50/500 twice a day and daplo 10 1 tablet before lunch now my sugar is fbs 119 and ppbs 239 pls suggest should I continue my same medicine am or change for any new medicine. However your post meal blood sugar is on the high side and I note that your weight is only 60 kg which is a bit low for your height. Check with your family doctor about the need to take insulin for improving diabetes control and to gain weight to optimal body weight
