It may be avn or weakness at the hip joint, can you share the reports? Continue with medicines as prescribed by the doc, do apply hot or ice pack twice a day for 15 min to reduce pain, consult with reports for proper assessment so that proper treatment can be prescribed.

you are very right about normal range of tsh levels. At 8.5 milli units/ml, with normal t4, the condition is classified as sub- clinical hypothyroidism. This normally is not treated with any drugs.
