Your present treatment seems to be fine. But it would be best if you take glucobay 50 along with food thrice a day. And not before food.

Hi
as you said you are diabetic. Since last 4-5 years. N your sugar levels r with in normal range. You suffer only constipation or say hard stool. Which could be one of the side of antidiabetic drugs. So wat you need to do is. Eat more fibers in the evening. And use powder lactifibre with milk or syp. Lactulose with normal water at night before bed.

It is advisable to test blood glucose level before and 30 mins after breakfast, lunch and dinner for next 3 days. Then only it can be concluded if your blood glucose level have reverted back to pre-covid levels. Yes severe hunger and alleviation of same after stopping acarbose is a sign of hypoglycemia induced by anti-diabetic drugs. It's in your best interest if you get the hba1c testing done and along with same you consult an endocrinologist in-person, who would help you the best.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. Fasting glucose is quite high, pp looks better. There is no mention about hba1c%. It is important to know that value, as it gives an idea about long term control. Hba1c% should be < 7, at your age.
Another aspect, your weight 98 kgs appears to be very high. There is no mention of height, so bmi can not be calculated. Ideally bmi should be < 23 kgs/sq meter.
Please let me know your diatary pattern and extent of dai...more

There is a need for improving the current treatment, to achieve better glucose control If you are looking for online consultation then come in a private conversation (paid consultation) with following deta...more
