Hello, you have to take medicines lifelong for this and keep bp and sugar both under control. If you will keep regular follow up and bp & sugar remains under control, you won't be having any problem. You have to adjust insulin doses after consulting diabetologist and switch over to other oral drugs since it is not working
1. Do regular aerobic exercise for 1 hour daily (brisk walking, jogging, running, swimming, cycling etc)
2. Reduce weight if overweight
3control diet
a) avoid sweets, sugar/honey, milk, milk product excess calorie and carbohydrate rich diet like white bread, cereal, rice, pasta

Tablet Glynase MF contains Glibeclamide an earlier sulfonylurea and Glycomet GP contains Glimiperide. Both are different. Can not be just replaced one for another. You have to talk to your doctor about the dosage when change is being made. Thanks.

I have seen the query. It is incomplete. There is no information on what is the fasting, pp glucose level or hba1c%, or your weight, height, dietary pattern and extent of physical activity. So difficult to give any suggestions. Thanks.

You can take amaryl mc 2 instead of azulix mf 2/0.2 and both the tablets are same with different brand names. There is a mild increase only 0.1 mg of voglibose in azulix mf 2/0.2.

I have gone through the details. There is absolutely no information on fasting, PP glucose levels and HbA1c%, therefore, I can not comment on changing the dosage schdule. Thanks.

It is not a good substitute as piz mf contains two medicines-pioglitazone 7.5 mg and metformin 500 mg while Glycomet contains only one-metformin 500 mg in sustained release form.

Mr. Lybrate-user, the tablet mentioned has 4 mg of glimiperide and 1000 mg metformin. This is a high dose particularly if some one is starting the treatment. Plus dose is also dependent on blood sugar levels both fasting and pp. Plus hba1c%. So I need to know that before guiding regarding whether to take that tablet or not. Thanks.
