For a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history.
Though you can follow some guidelines -
have small frequent meals.
Do not fast for long hours.
Avoid a very heavy meal at one time.
Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar.
Avoid junk foods.
Exercise and stay active.
Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia.
Sleep well. It's all a ...more

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. Following are my observations: 1) her hba1c% is too high, similarly fasting and pp glucose levels are also very high. This suggests her present treatment is not working well. There is an urgent need for up grade.
2) with a bmi of 31.45 kgs/sq meter, she is already in grade 1 obesity, carrying an excess of over 20 kgs. This itself is a hindrance in achieving better glucose control.
3) I need to know her dietary pattern, exten...more

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
Looking at your fasting and pp glucose levels, it is clear that diabetes is not at all in control. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes fasting glucose should be < 100 mg & pp 160 to 170 mg and hba1c% < 7, considering your age. It is clear that present medication is not helping, there is a need for upgrading the treatment. Apart from that there is a need to give a closer look at the diet and extent of daily exercise being done. Therefore, you may plea...more

The rectal bleeding is a different problem altogether. The cause could be piles or fissure. Some lifestyle changes would also be required. As for periods, it will come on time but a repeat usg is important to assess the present status.

There has some hue n cry about pioglitazone two years back but that is politics between pharma companies. MOREOVER Bladder cancer risk is with high dose that is 30 mg or above but it's benefits overweigh risk. In India Doctors are using this salt for 15 years.Nobody has seen any case of bladder cancer. On the contrary cancer is more seen in people who are not diabetics and aren't using pioglitazone. So rest assured you are on right track.Good luck.

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The glucose levels mentioned are very good, showing excellent control. This is mainly because of Tablet Gliden MF that your are taking. The other tablet whether you take or not, glucose levels will remain within present range. Reason being that particular tablet has no proven clinical benefits. There are absolutely no standard clinical trials done like double blind placebo controlled studies. So the claims are not proven at all. Thanks.

It can be because of hormonal imbalance. Get your thyroid profile, cbc, fsh, prolactin, blood sugar fasting checked from some lab.If everything is normal then do an ultrasound of abdomen.Homeopathy is a very effective for this problem n has very encouraging results. And homeopathic medicines are safe and do not have any side effects at all.
