Hello Mr. Lybrate-user with diabetes you are not supposed to take direct sugar or sweets as that will cause almost immediate increase in blood glucose level. All the food stuffs that we consume like whole grain /pulses products rice, roti, chapati, roti, potato, sweet potato and many other cereals, everything is converted to glucose only as complex starch present in all of these. Insulin is the best drug for treating diabetes. Usually in T2 DM it is used along with oral drugs. Shifting to some ayurvedic combination is not going to be any benefit at all.
