It may happen sometimes, you have to go for regular follow-up with your doctor and mention about it ( you can check it at home and plot a chart ). Let the doctor review your case afresh taking into consideration all the facts and check your general health. Discuss about your concerns and what precautions to be taken. He doctor may reduce or change the medicine. At your end maintain a regular routine ( eat healthy food with calorie count ) and exercise as usual. Please revert after that for any ...more

Mr S Murugaraj, The sugar levels are high particularly fasting one. What is the HbA1c%? Plus tell me do you exercise daily regularly for at least 1 hour? What is your dietary pattern? It will be better if you come in a private conversation with all the details, where i will be able to give specific suggestions.

Dear lybrate user,
one of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Muscle cells utilise the glucose molecules to release energy by breaking down those glucose molecules. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucos...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Fasting glucose 145 mg is very high. Ideally it should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg. Only Glimepiride 2 mg may not be beneficial. Some additional drugs may be required. What is the PP glucose levels & HbA1c%. With aging skin does become dry and wrinkled. That is a normal process. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have gone through the information given. You have mentioned only the fasting glucose level. There is no information on after food glucose & hba1c%. Also there is a need to know her lipid profile, serum creatinine & urea levels to give any specific advise. It is better if you also give information on her dietary pattern, weigh, height and extent of daily exercise. Ideally at her age fbg should be < 100 mg, pp should be around 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. That ...more

Hello. Before my sugar level was as my fasting was from 140 to 180 and post meal was around 220 to 250. I was having leg pain alot then I showed to md Dr. He told me for some test of fbs, ppbs, cbc, creatinine, lipids, vitamin.i did report in that my fasting came 192 and ppbs came around 218. And my cholesterol was high and b12 and vitamin d was very low. Doctor have prescribed me tablets for that. Its been 5 days I am taking tablets. I checked my sugar morning it was 104 and then I checked at 8 pm it ws 168. Till 11 I was feeling very low like something is happening inside. What I should do now? It is due to sugar imbalance? And which tablet should get changed please see the prescription of doctor which I have attached. Also I am getting headache from four days. Doctor have prescribed the below tablets. Glimisave m2 in lunch, glimestar at night, mixture in noon, adilsip 135 night, antax e 0.5 at night, repace 50 and rabigod at morning fasting. Dynaglipt m after breakfast.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. Following are my observations:
1) Looking at your weight and height, your ideal body weight should be about 55 to 56 kgs considering your age. Therefore with a Body Mass Index(BMI) of 26.89 kgs/Sq meter, you are already in over weight category. This is a major hindrance in blood glucose control. You will have to work towards reducing at least about 8 to 10 kgs.
2) In a well controlled diabetes patient FBG should be < 100 m...more

Mr. Lybrate-user kumar, the present treatment looks quite good. Fasting and pp levels are a bit high, but those can be managed by following a more strict diet and exercise schedule. I feel there is no further need to add any drugs. Her bmi is 27.55 kg/ m2, which shows she is overweight. Her ideal body weight should be 59 kgs. So all her food intake (calories) should be calculated considering that weight and extent of daily physical exercise and blood sugar levels. Even if she reduces 5 to 7 kgs,...more
