There is no specific type of constipation as mentioned by you. However, if constipation is there one has to increase the intake both soluble and insoluble fibers by taking adequate quantities of green salads, flax seeds or fenugreek seeds and plenty of water. Also increase intake fruits (which are permitted). If still constipation remains mild stool softeners may be used with advise from your doctor.

Please read about healthy habits for diabetes management from the internet and adapt them with patience and understanding. The intention behind healthy habits is to keep the body and mind fit and healthy while optimising the effect of medicines being taken. Yo...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
The prescription is fine. What is important is to see that blood glucose should be brought down to FBG: <100 mg, PP: 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8 (even <6%). That will help remain fit and healthy. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Usually if there is allergy to sulfonylurea, it will be there for all the compounds of that class. So if some one is allergic to glimiperide, then may also be allergic to glibenclamide. Therefore, it is better to avoid this group of drugs all together There are many other options to control blood glucose. The treating diabetologist will be better person to advise. Thanks.
