It may happen sometimes, you have to go for regular follow-up with your doctor and mention about it ( you can check it at home and plot a chart ). Let the doctor review your case afresh taking into consideration all the facts and check your general health. Discuss about your concerns and what precautions to be taken. He doctor may reduce or change the medicine. At your end maintain a regular routine ( eat healthy food with calorie count ) and exercise as usual. Please revert after that for any ...more

Mr S Murugaraj, The sugar levels are high particularly fasting one. What is the HbA1c%? Plus tell me do you exercise daily regularly for at least 1 hour? What is your dietary pattern? It will be better if you come in a private conversation with all the details, where i will be able to give specific suggestions.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Fasting glucose 145 mg is very high. Ideally it should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg. Only Glimepiride 2 mg may not be beneficial. Some additional drugs may be required. What is the PP glucose levels & HbA1c%. With aging skin does become dry and wrinkled. That is a normal process. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have gone through the information given. You have mentioned only the fasting glucose level. There is no information on after food glucose & hba1c%. Also there is a need to know her lipid profile, serum creatinine & urea levels to give any specific advise. It is better if you also give information on her dietary pattern, weigh, height and extent of daily exercise. Ideally at her age fbg should be < 100 mg, pp should be around 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. That ...more

Mr. Lybrate-user kumar, the present treatment looks quite good. Fasting and pp levels are a bit high, but those can be managed by following a more strict diet and exercise schedule. I feel there is no further need to add any drugs. Her bmi is 27.55 kg/ m2, which shows she is overweight. Her ideal body weight should be 59 kgs. So all her food intake (calories) should be calculated considering that weight and extent of daily physical exercise and blood sugar levels. Even if she reduces 5 to 7 kgs,...more
