Please follow the Doctors instruction. Anybidy can grt Diabetes at any time. Take yiur 3 month average of blood sugar which is HbA1c. This will give you a good guideline. Start doing exervise. At least a 45 minute brisk walk 6 days a week. Eat more of vegetables which are green in colour.

Due to on many years of diabetes your body not responding to this medicines. Also add some ayurvedic medicines.

Pancreas is the site to produce insulin in body. So if the pancreas is diseased the only option left is to give insulin from outside body by an injection. In my opinion glimeperide will not help you.

At this age satisfactory levels Get A1c after 3 months.

I need to know following details :exact fasting, pp glucose, hba1c%, dietary pattern, extent of exercises being done daily, lipid profile, bp readings, serum creatinine and urea. It would be worthwhile to start insulin - glargine 06 units at night after consultation with your physician and plan to reduce glimepride
In case you are not interested in insulin, I will suggest sitagliptin/metformin combination
It will be advisable to consult your physician.

You have not mentioned your blood sugar fasting, pp and hba1c report.
It is better to start with first one as it contains two medicines and second contsins three. Monitor blood sugar and keep in touch with your doctor.
