Asked for male, 67 years old from Pune

My BSL Fasting 103 and PP 190. I am Type 2 Diabetic Patient since 15 years and I am 63 years old. Need to extract a painful tooth. I am on Metrogyl 200 (1-1-1) and Flemiclav 375 (1-0-1) for 3 days as prescribed by the Dentist. Stopped Aztolet 20 mg for 3 days as suggested by the Dental Surgeon. Is it safe to extract the tooth with the above sugar levels? Kindly advise. (I am taking reclimet 80/500 x1, Jardiance 12. 5 mg x 1, Vobose 0.3 x 1 and Wallaphase 500 x 1, Aztolet 20 mg x 1 daily)

If you can bring down the PPBS to lower levels of say 140 by increasing the insulin before tooth extraction it will be better

As it excreates sugar through urine.

My husband is 36 years old and has diabetes since he was 27. He took gluconorm g4 forte, volix, jardiance 25 before breakfast and janumet xr cp (50/1000), piopod 30 after dinner. He was completely ok. Fasting 100, ppbs 136, hba1c 6% were his regular findings. As he had recurrent uti, new Dr. (we had to shift from our hometown) wanted him to start insulin and stop medication. Ryzodeg was given to him 8 unit before dinner along with janumet. Sugar remained high. Slowly he increased the level, with 22 unit before breakfast and 16 before dinner sugar was around 180 and 202. Then he started novomix 30 28 unit before breakfast and 22 before dinner along with galvasmet. Today sugar came 242 and 318. My husband is 6 ft tall, bodyweight 91 kg. He maintains his diet. What to do? Pls help.

canagliflozin tablet 100 mg can be taken in place of jardiance 25 m as bot are of similar nature though different molecules but used fir the same purpose

[08/02, 8: 11 p.m.] hlo, sir I am a type 2 diabetic patient since 1996. I am a male of 58 years old and suffering from high bp, prostate, and ckd (since 2016 ). I am taking the following medications since 2015 :- 1) lantus inj - 5 units- overnight before dinner. 2)cilaheart 20 - everyday before breakfast. 3) zita met plus 20/500 - overnight before dinner. 4) zoryl m3 forte -everyday before breakfast. 5) tazloc -everyday before dinner. 6) nefrosave -everyday before breakfast. 7) dytor 10 mg - everyday before breakfast. 8) jardiance 25 mg-once a day before breakfast. 9) dariton od 7.5 mg -twice a week.[08/02, 8: 20 p.m.] my sugar levels always remains quite high even after time to time medications and fibrous & balanced died. Last one year ago, I suffered from hypoglycemia and there was some blood clot in my brain but it was operated successfully. I was also treated with laser retinopathy twice since 5 years back. problems:- (1) after treatment of blood clot in my brain, I am suffering from frequent _short term memory loss_. I even forget things of last 5-10 minutes back. (2) I feel heavy weakness & energy loss.[08/02, 8: 23 p.m.] sagrika: current levels :- (1) blood creatinine-1.98 (2) prostate weight - 40 gms (3) hba1c - 8.1 (4) egfr- 49 [08/02, 8: 23 p.m.] please reply a humble request.

You should control your diabetes preferably with insulin only and avoid so many medicines to avoid their side effects and hypoglycemia. Please consult an endocrinologist.

This drug is lowering your blood sugar too much, you can change your medicine to tab jardiance met (12.5+500) before breakfast once a day.

Hello, thanks for the query.
Both jardiance (dapagliflozin) and canagliflozin have similar action as both belong to sglt - 2 inhibitor class of drugs. May I know the reason for changing from one to the other? If your physician has recommeded it then you may do so. Please give why the change is intended. Thanks.
