Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Both the drugs have similar mode of action, however, if the particular physician has recommended a particular compound it is better to get is opinion before changing the prescription. Thanks.

Sir. Good morning. I am diabetic since 2015. And earlier I was taking fastmet g2 per the instruction of a physician. But I started gaining weight. My endocrinologist asked me to stop it and prescribed me carbophage xr1000 and gibtulio 25 /jardiance. So, I have shed many kilograms and now I have lost almost 18 kgs in the last 3 years. I was morbidly obese then. But even after taking all these medicines, my fbs levels don't go below 120 and ppbs below 140 .last week when I checked my fbs level was 147 and ppbs level was 209. Yesterday when I checked, my ppbs levels were at 222. Last month my hba1c level was 6.4.but my Dr. was concerned becoz of the lack of coordination bn the fbs ppbs levels and hba1c level. Also, as a cheaper medicine, I tried vysov 50/1000 for a brief period of time last year. Even though, my sugar levels got under control, I started gaining weight. I also tried xigduo .but I felt like being feverish and was not comfortable after taking it. Also, when we plan to check ppbs. What food we should have for breakfast? For instance, if it's idly. How many idlies can we have ?is reach a good staple food for diabetic patients? In kerala, as you know, rice is the staple food. Kindly clarify sir.

Glp 1 agonists with metformin and a gliptin will be a good option for you. Glp 1 agonist is available as a weekly injection but it is expensive (eg semaglutide ). Anyways I would advise to discuss with an endocrinology Dr. and make sure that there are no hormonal causes for your obesity like cushings syn...more
