Asked for Male, 42 years old from Bhubaneswar

My father is 68 years old n he has been suffering from epilepsy for last 20 yrs. Recently he has been showing many symptoms of epilepsy like not responding anything. Not able to express n body imbalance. We consulted his regular neurologist n he advised valparin 300 mg tab to be taken with other regular AED like Epsolin 100 mg 4 tab a day n phenobarbitone 60mg in morning n 90mg at night. Please advise.

Hi, Our son is 4 years old and has Crigler Najjar Syndrome type 2 by birth. We r giving him Gardenal 2.5 ml once a day. Without medication his eye turns yellowish. As of now his fine and reaching all his milestones as per his paediatrician. We want to know more about this like what food to give what not to give anything which we have to know. Also, we are planning for a second baby we want to know are there any chances of second baby to having the same. Or do we have to have some medical checkup to prevent.

There are 2 types type 1 & 2 Type is autorecessive means 25 % chance of child getting. Type two can be both of different types- recessive (25 % cghance) or dominant (50 % chance)

My brother is 24 years old and treated with head injury 3 years back. After injury he is suffering from fits or seizures and is given following medicines 1. Valrate 2. Adinep 3. Laconext 4. Epsolin 5. Gardenal .A month ago doctor recommended to do CT scan which results in fine report. Now I want that any of these medicines should be stopped as there are many side effects of these. Please guide in this regard.

My name Sebastian. Age 58 yrs. I am getting headaches for last few days which does not go even after applying balm or taking aspirin tablets. I checked BP and found to be 140/90. For the last 2 days it is the same. I had checked my creatinine and uric acid levels. They were 1.16 and 7.2 respectively. Also I was under medication for Epileptic seizures for last 22 years. Tab. Gardenal 60 mg twice daily was taken. Now gradually the dose has been reduced to 15 mg at night only since the last 1 month. Will this be having any relevance in getting headaches. Please advise.

Dear sir, my son born on 27th/12/2015. On day only he faced the feeding not properly and get hypoglycemia due to we admitted the Bellary then he cured everything at that time and every 2 months he gets seizures initially hands showering, at this time doctor prescribed the Gardenal syrup, later added levipil, again with lonazep. Now recently finding my on head drops whenever wake up from sleep so recently changed prescribed the valparin 200 mg, Lobazam and sabril (content: vigabatrin) now we are not started the sabril remaining as dose is valparin 5m morning and evening and lobazam 1/2 morning and evening please suggest the now starts sabril also any guidance for this right not controlled the head drops Best Regards

All this r internal processes. Best medicine which suit to son. If one seizure is there you have to restart n the day count is one again.
You consult neurophysician. Regular follow up is must. Gardenal, is still best medicine.
But now a days sodium valproat is used.

Im searching a best seizure medicine which has very low side effect and which do not effect to liver, kidney heart and others organs, my neuro doctor has offered me to choose one medicine from "phenytoin, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, eslicarbazepine, sodium valporate, topiramate, levetiracetam, lamotrigine, diavalporex, phenobarbitone, currently i'm taking clobazam 12.5 mg and lacosamide 200 mg per day but nothing improvement. I feels suddenly extreme difficulty till 30 to 50 second, I always remain conscious at that time and can talk with anyone but that difficulty what I feels which is unable to express in words. My mri report show: ring shaped cortical/ subcortical lesion with eccentric dot and blooming on swi and calcification on phage image in the left hippocampal formation with minimal peripheral gliosis/edema. Findings represent calcified granuloma most likely related to neurocysticercosis. Other diagnostic consideration is tuberculosis. 2. Mild increased signal and volume loss of the left hippocampus as compared to right. Finding are suggestive of left mesial temporal sclerosis. Clinical correlation is suggested" while I do eeg test when normal condition always show normal eeg but when 30-50 second extreme difficulty happen during eeg show abnormal ieds: left anterior temporal and there are few sharp wave discharge starting from left anterior temporal region. Now according some above report which medicine is the best for me please suggest. I want to change medicine lacosamide and clobazam. Thank you.

epilan is a combination of phenobarbitone,and phenytoin.
you can purchase the drug separately in desired strength and have it if the combination is not available in any other brand.
