Hello
you shouldn’t be starting all medications at once.
They all have essentially similar action and shouldn’t be taken all together.
Please consult a psychiatrist and let them decide what to do about the medication hope this helps.

Dear Imtiyaz,
Antidepressants are prescribed for the treatment of depression. Depression will be diagnosed by the doctor by going through your symptoms and ruling out other possible causes for those symptoms. They are NOT confidence boosting tablets. If your low self esteem and confidence are due to depression, any antidepressant tablet will help you to get back your confidence.

Hi, first of all I would suggest you that for medication part you should talk to your treating doctor so that he can make changes in doses or medicines. Secondly I would highly suggest you to go for cbt and erp therapies with a good psychotherapist. Cognitive behaviour therapy works wonders in case of anxiety and exposure response prevention therapy works very effectively in ocd.
For further help you may contact me here on Lybrate.

I have been on antidepressants for past 11 years for anxiety disorder. I was on escitalopram for last 3 years and it stopped working. My current psychiatrist started me on buspirone, clomipramine, fluvoxamine and clonazepam. I got some improvement and reached the doses buspirone 10 mg 1-0-1, fluvoxamine 100 mg 1-0-1, clomipramine 75 mg 0-0-1 and clonazepam 0.25 1-0-1 I was having intolerable side effects and I missed one dose of clomipramine and problems started again. I told my psychiatrist that only escitalopram and duloxine had worked for me. Then he stopped buspirone and clomipramine and reduced fluvoxamine dose to 100 mg once and started escitalopram at 20 mg directly and duloxetine 20 mg two times and clonazepam 0.25 3 times. I am having a weird mood and not able to control my negative thoughts after that switch. Was it a correct method to stop 2 medicines abruptly and starting 2 other meds at high doses?

Dear lybrate-user, welcome to lybrate. Drug induced anxiety disorder treatment consists of cognitive behavioral therapy, life style changes, relaxation therapy and meditation. Once you learn how to manage your anxiety yourself with the help of the above treatment methods, you will be cured and you can stop the medicines if any. The process could take some time according to the depth of the problem and the circumstances at which the patient lives. Take care.

Missing one dose may not have an effect as the half life of these medications is quite long. However ensure that you take medication as prescribed on time so that you get relief from your symptoms. Keep a fixed time to take your medication, e.g. morning just after breakfast. Keep an alarm if you tend to forget. Compliance helps to achieve remission.
