I’m a 18 year old girl who has had uti symptoms. I started getting symptoms about a week ago of urgent need to per and when I go it’s just a drop. My urine also had blood or at least I think it is because it is red urine. It does not burn or sting I feel pressure in my bladder. I have began using penicillin but it has not worked. What should I do?

My vdrl test is positive also tpha reactive 1.1280 I have 4 dose of penicillin g 2.4 unit every week for 4 weeks also levofloxacin 500 mg for one month now my tpha become 1.320 reactive so is here any improvement.

Hello Doctor, Last May from my blood test came to know that I have syphilis. Doctor prescribed me 6 shots of penicillin 1.2 million. I got all the 6 shots but still my vdrl report is positive, though the dilution came down 1: 32 to 1: 16. Doctor prescribed me another 6 shots, but 2 at a time. (Penicillin 1.2 m two shots each buttock for 3 week). I already got 1st two shots. My question is how long it will take to get my vdrl report negative again? As my dilution came down from the 1st report (from 1: 32 to 1: 16), am I curing very slow? Am I getting proper treatment?

You are getting a proper treatment and your body is responding and you are getting relieved of the infection slowly. Continue the doses as prescribed by your doctor along with regular follow up. You will be also be given oral medication to continue for few days if required. Don't worry your doctor is treating you well.

I got my vdrl test positive and tpha positive. Vdrl titre was 1: 16 initially, then I undergo treatment. I took 3 penicillin shots along with tablets, then I tested after one month it had reduced to 1: 8, then continued my medication with tablets for next 21 days it was same, and again continued with tablets it came 1: 4 after 21 days, then again continued with medication it came to 1: 2, but after this again I continued with medication it started increasing it became 1: 4 and then I got 3 penicillin shots and tested again now it's 1: 8, I don't know y it is increasing while I am going with the treatment. Please suggest.

I don't know since when I have this problem, I never noticed but few years back I saw crazy veins in my left foot (internal side) from toe to ankle. And now more I notice more severe they seem to be although there is no bluish skin or itching but sometimes I do feel like numbness or burning sensation in my left foot after prolonged standing. The vein is really getting messier and thick. Some of them I have noticed behind my knees in both legs and some in quads. My major concern in the one in my left foot and the one near my right knee. I have a history of rheumatic fever for which I was prescribed disprin (9-12 tablets/day) and penicillin for few months and later penicillin was continued for 10 years by doctor's advise. My treatment for rheumatic fever got completed by 2013-14. Now i'm 25 and worried about this new condition.

I was found TPHA positive first time in may 2014 and got ONE injection of penicillin. It got cured and later found again in april 2017 VDRL was 1: 32, I got two 1.2L vials in each butt for three weeks (total 6) and again its positive till now in undiluted (negative in 1: 2 dilution) (11.4.18). I just want to know if I further need any treatment.
